“I’ve had incredible opportunities to listen, watch and learn from the best in the business. A few years ago, the creative bug hit and I started writing. It was slow at first, but using down time in hotels, airplanes and at home, the songs and recordings gradually started to improve. I’ve still got a lot to learn but feel like I’m finally ready to share some of my music.”

Pulling from a wide variety of influences, Matt’s writing evokes a sense of nostalgia, warmth and bittersweet longing. It’s a vehicle to reconcile the past and contemplate the future.

‘August’ is often tied to the end of summer, transitions and reflection. Still continuing his work with others, this side project reflects on worn experiences and marks the start of a new chapter. Discovering his voice and exploring different sounds, Matt’s first collection of songs will be released over the coming months. And so it begins…
